Local Partnerships Operations Team assists and provides hands on support to local authorities in the development, structuring, procurement, execution and delivery of improved public services through the PFI, public private partnerships, and long-term strategic partnerships.
Local Partnerships Operations Team is core to meeting the vision for better procurement in local government, through the provision of expert project advisory and transactor support to local authorities developing and procuring services and projects through various forms of partnership; working also with central government sponsoring departments, private sector service providers and other organisations in a wider influencing and market developmental role.
Local Partnerships project and transactor support is available to local authorities developing PFI schemes, PPP ownership vehicles, and contractual partnering structure and strategic partnerships. Local Partnerships transactor support focuses on nine local government service lines (See Sectors), reflecting the key service areas where funding for partnerships is available, and the priorities set by the Efficiency Review and LGA
The mission of the Local Partnerships Operations Team is to be recognised as the expert for major local government PFI and PPP procurements, and to be regarded as both the first point of call for local authorities developing and procuring services and projects through the PFI, PPP, and strategic partnerships, and as local authorities ‘critical friend’ through the process.
