A Budget representation is a formal written representation from an interest group, individual or representative body to HM Treasury with the aim of commenting on Government policy and/or suggesting new policy. HM Treasury welcomes representations as part of the policy making process. The views of stakeholders are gratefully received.
If you have submitted your letter via the online form, there is no need to send in a hard copy of the letter.
The rest of this guidance sets out the criteria for Budget representations.
If you have a question or comment that is not a Budget representation, please contact the Central Enquiries Unit using the following email address: public.enquiries@hm-treasury.gov.uk
HM Treasury receives numerous Budget representations for each fiscal event. To improve the efficiency of our current process, we have developed an online form.
The online form will ensure that all representations that meet the criteria set out below are passed on to the relevant policy officials as quickly as possible.
