Antarctic Schools Pack

Antarctic Schools Pack - Antarctic Schools Pack image

The Antarctic Schools Pack is an educational resource on Antarctica produced especially for students in the post-16 age range. The Commissioner for British Antarctic Territory launched the pack in April 1999. The Geographical Association presented The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (publishers) their Gold Certificate for this resource. It is aimed at the A-level Geography syllabus with fifteen topics, each with worksheets and appropriate resources. In addition a 56-page Teachers Notes provides model answers to the tasks set in the worksheets.

The pack consists of 15 topics, ranging from climate to the Antarctic Treaty System, living and working in Antarctica to environmental protection, and the ozone hole to tourism. Each topic comprises a double-sided worksheet and three double-sided pages of resources, providing a wide range of materials including scientific data, photographs, satellite images, maps, and written summaries of major issues.

All content is provided copyright-free for educational use by UK schools and colleges. We are no longer able to provied hard-copies of the pack but it is free to download below.
