Mr Jones met His Excellency Choo Kyu-ho at the Senedd. The Welsh Government has organised trade missions to South Korea and the major exports from Wales to the country are chemicals and metals.
Academic links were given a boost last year when the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff (UWIC) announced a new degree in Master of Design franchised with the Samsung Art & Design Institute (SADI), giving Korean students the opportunity to study in Cardiff.
The First Minister said:
“I extend a warm Welsh welcome to the Ambassador and our meeting was an excellent opportunity to discuss ideas for increasing trade and investment between Wales and South Korea.
“This month saw the EU-Korea Free Trade Agreement come into force and this represents an opportunity to increase business relationships between our two countries in the coming years.”
