Access arrangements online
The Access arrangements online service transferred from QCDA to the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) on 30 June 2011.
The service continues to operate as normal.
For more information about AAO, go to the JCQ website.
If you have any questions about using AAO, call JCQ on one of the following telephone numbers:

020 7638 4132
Alternatively, you can email JCQ at centresupport@jcq.org.uk
What is AAO for?
Access arrangements online (AAO) allows you to submit all GCSE and GCE access arrangements applications and order modified papers quickly and efficiently.
AAO combines access arrangements and modified paper requests, helping to further reduce the administrative burden for exam centres.
The service provides:
- A single table for candidate data, allowing you to search for AAO and/or modified paper information on candidate(s).
- Improved searching and reporting for centres.
- It is simple to use and incorporates many of the existing features that centres are familiar with.
You must now use AAO to apply for access arrangements and order modified papers for candidates.
The Modified papers tool is now unavailable and will be read-only until December 2010.
Training
Go to the training version of our system to learn how to use it.
Getting started
You can go to the Access arrangements online tool via any of the awarding body secure websites:
You only need to make one application for each candidate as applications made via any of the sites below will be available for all of the other awarding bodies to view.
For most cases you'll receive an instant decision from the system. Complex cases, known as awarding body referrals, will be forwarded to a panel for a decision. You should allow sufficient time for an awarding body to consider the circumstances. You can monitor the progress of these cases on the system while you await the decision.
Candidate data protection notice
You must gain the candidate's consent before you process their access arrangements using Access arrangements online. Click here to download a Data protection notice to be completed by the candidate and kept on file locally.
