Key stage 3 ICT onscreen assessment tasks

Teachers can use these onscreen tasks to help assess pupils studying key stage 3 ICT.

Students can complete these tasks at any time during key stage 3. There are three tasks in each of the four ICT activity areas:

  • data handling
  • modelling
  • presenting and handling information
  • sequencing instructions.

All the tasks are:

  • based on the key stage 3 ICT programme of study
  • designed to fit within lesson times
  • available on demand
  • can be completed online
  • are automatically marked.

When students complete the tasks, they receive instant feedback reports stating what they've achieved. Teachers can access reports for individual students, and for groups of students, to get evidence of their progress, and develop and target learning objectives more accurately.

To help teachers use these onscreen assessment tasks effectively, a range of support materials is available.
