Background Image Uploads Are Not Working Properly (Known Issue)

Background images on Twitter are limited to being 800 KB in size and must be a JPG, PNG, or GIF file. As long as an image meets these requirements it should be able to be uploaded to a Twitter account. Currently, however, some background images that fall within these specifications are not able to be uploaded. One of two issues occur when these images fail to upload properly:

1. The whale error message saying that Twitter is over capacity is shown.
2. A confirmation message is displayed at the top of the page saying that the upload was successful is displayed. This error message is incorrect though because no background image is displayed.

We're not exactly sure why this is happening at the moment, but you can help! If you are experiencing this problem, you can assist us by leaving a comment below with the following information:

• Your username
• The size of the image you are trying to upload (in K/KB)
• The file type (JPG, GIF, or PNG)
• The image resolution (X pixels by Y pixels)
• A link to the image on TwitPic.com (so we can use it for troubleshooting/testing)

This information will give us some examples to work with and will give us a better understanding of how many users are experiencing this problem.
