Teacher assessment now open on NCA tools website

03 May 2011

The 'Teacher assessment' section of the NCA tools website is now open.

The submission of teacher assessment, including P scale data, is a statutory requirement for key stage 2 and key stage 3 schools.

Teacher assessment for science must be submitted, regardless of whether a school is taking part in the key stage 2 science sampling tests or not. Teacher assessment is statutory for all pupils, including those who are working below the level of the tests.

Teacher assessment must be submitted before the Friday 8 July 2011 deadline. We are encouraging all key stage 2 and key stage 3 schools to submit their teacher assessment data early.

There are three ways that teacher assessment data can be submitted.

  1. Schools can submit teacher assessment data directly on the 'Teacher assessment' section of the NCA tools website using a common transfer file (CTF) created using their management information system (MIS).
  2. Schools without an MIS can submit their teacher assessment data on the 'Teacher assessment' section of the NCA tools website using the appropriate key stage template.
  3. Local authorities may choose to collect and submit teacher assessment on behalf of their schools. Local authorities will contact their schools to explain specific arrangements.

A number of resources are available to help with the submission of teacher assessment data.
