Institutional Quality Standards (IQS)

Together with the school leadership team, the leading teacher will be responsible for developing and leading the implementation of an improvement plan for Gifted and Talented education based on the Institutional Quality Standards (IQS).

The IQS will be an essential tool in this process. The IQS are designed to support improving the quality of Gifted and Talented education in settings, schools and colleges as a whole. The IQS have received the support of both the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and the National College for School Leadership (NCSL), and are recognised by Ofsted as the default self-evaluation tool for Gifted and Talented.

The IQS user guide, the leading teacher handbook and the e-modules provide further guidance and support on using the IQS to support improvements in Gifted and Talented education.
