Brief Description
The Department for Work and Pensions is seeking an exceptional Strategic Communications Director to play a key role in the delivery of a major area of Government policy and reform.
Vacancy description
The Department is one of the largest Government departments with over 100,000 employees delivering services directly to over 20 million people, and with responsibility for annual expenditure of over £150 billion. This daily challenge is matched by the most ambitious programme of Welfare Reform for a generation, which will create a Welfare State for the 21st Century.
Reporting to the Permanent Secretary, the Director of Strategic Communications will be responsible for the critical role that communications, both public and internal, will play in delivering this agenda.
They will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of multiple, complex campaigns for reform, managing wider marketing, media and stakeholder strategies and shaping the communications function.
