Schedule 6 (which makes amendments relating to stop and search powers inNorthern Ireland) has effect.

The Public Reading Stage was open for comments for three weeks from 15 February to 7 March 2011 and has now closed. Your suggestions will be considered by Parliamentarians as the Bill passes through the House of Commons. Thank you for your suggestions.

    Yes, I think this is a good idea, providing the ammendments go inthe right way. There is an increased threat of dissident activity and any powers that the police have that will enable them to try to stamp this out is all to the good. I am also aware of the opposite side of this debate, in that people who are innocent getting stopped and that causing tensions within communities. This happens rarely, I think, and it’s worth a few ;wrong’ times if it means that the police still have this power to be able to use it for it’s intended purpose.
