Functional Skills: Overview

Functional skills in English, mathematics and ICT are a key component of the 14-19 reforms. They are incorporated in new GCSE criteria from 2010 and are a key requirement for diplomas, apprenticeships and the foundation learning tier (FLT).
Functional Skills Support Programme (FSSP)

The National Strategies and the Learning and Skills Information Service (LSIS) have joint responsibility for delivering training and support for the development of functional skills.

  A description of roll-out of training to pilot centres by face-to-face and online modules.
- Pilots and dates
  
  Pilot centres will be able to access revised versions of the existing e-learning modules 1–4 which will be available in early 2010.
