NCAmanager: User guide for National Challenge Advisers

Getting started

PC/laptop specification required

The minimum PC/laptop specifications to access the NCAmanager website are:

  • operating system(s) – Windows XP/NT/2000/2003/Vista/7
  • browser(s) – Internet Explorer 6.0 (recommended) or above, or any other compatible browsers. JavaScript and Cookies enabled.

Logging on to the system

To access the NCAmanager website go to www.ncamanager.org

To log in you will need a User Name and Password from the National Strategies. These can both be a mixture of upper and lower case letters, and the password must contain at least one numerical and one alphabet character and be between 8–20 characters in length. Enter these details in the relevant boxes before selecting the Login button. If you fail to enter the correct User Name and Password three times, your account will be locked for 30 minutes.

Type in your User Name and Password, then select Login.

Forgotten Password

Please note that the National Strategies does not keep a record of users’ passwords. If you have forgotten your password, select the Click here if you have forgotten your password link under the Login button.

A new screen will appear in which you need to type your email address. Select the Reset Password button and, if your email address is recognised on the system, a new password will be sent to your email address.

Dual Access Users

If you have been assigned with dual access (e.g. if you are also an LA Manager) you will be asked to identify your role after logging on by selecting the radio button for either NCA or Local Authority Admin. If you intend to access the website as an LA Manager, please refer to the LA Manager user guide which can be found in the User Guide section on the www.ncamanager.org website. In this case, select NCA and then press the Choose Role button.
