This pack contains a booklet and two DVDs: one is an interactive resource drawing heavily on classroom video and case studies from schools that took part in the original workshops (DCSF ref: 00467-2008DVD-EN); the other offers key extracts from the Talk for writing CPD sessions presented by Pie Corbett on behalf of the National Strategies in May 2008 (DCSF ref: 00606-2008DVD-EN).

The booklet (DCSF ref: 00467-2008BKT-EN) provides a brief introduction to Talk for writing and provides support to teachers in helping them further develop children's writing throughout the teaching sequence. It gives an overview of Talk for writing as well as a recommended approach to planning. The document also includes talk strategies, how Talk for writing can help with the learning and development in Reception classes and a range of case studies of teachers that have put into practice the principles and approaches into the literacy learning of their classes.
