The vaccination debate

Assessment focuses: AF1, AF2

Context

Following their research into immunisation, pupils prepared for a debate about whether or not all children in the UK should be required by law to be immunised against childhood diseases. They decided on their view and then wrote an argument to support it, using relevant information from the resources provided. The teacher provided a writing frame.

I think the Jab shouldn't be made law and should be made the parents decision. But I would send my children to have it, BecausePoint One;The Jabs have reduced 99% of deaths and the Jabs are safe.Evidence;Pharmaceutical Company "Our vaccines are safe, no one has died as a result of our vaccinations". Reduced deaths by 99%.Point 2;I think it should be the parents choice about these children as long as they know the risksEvidence;Profession of National Health laboratory "Parents have the right / responsibility to have their children vaccinated."

Point 3;Even though it should be the parents decision I think I would still have my children vaccinated because they could still catch the disease.Evidence;Online encyclopedia; "Before vaccinations many children who caught the diseases resulted many thousands became mentally ill and thousands of others died.To conclude I think there is a better chance of not getting the disease than not having the jab.
