Essay - Of Mice and Men

Assessment focuses: AF3, AF5, AF6

Context

This evidence is from a sequence of work on Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. Pupils were asked to select a key incident from the novel, annotate the text and then write about what gave it its dramatic and powerful impact. Pupil D chose the scene in which there is a fight between Curley and Lennie, ending with Curley's hand being broken. Whole pages from Of Mice and Men that feature the annotated text have not been included here due to copyright restrictions.
