Action planning outline 1 – using the Institutional Quality Standards

Six-week action planning outline – cycle 1

Week 1: Access the IQS online or print off a hard copy; familiarise yourself with the range and content; reflect on your current practice.

Week 2: Share the IQS and your initial reflections with a member of the SLT and devise a plan for gathering evidence over the following two weeks of the cycle; inform staff of the lesson study process.

Weeks 3 and 4: Follow your plan and gather evidence; identify existing documentation; engage in lesson observation, paired class visits and observations, etc.

Week 5: Reconvene with SLT member and discuss outcomes of evidence gathering; confirm agreed findings and plan feedback to full SLT.

Week 6: Feed back to SLT; make recommendations for next steps and planned impact; record outcomes.
