This evidence of a pupil's work in reading and the teacher's assessment exemplifies the level judgement of a pupil working at low level 4 in Year 9.
Assessment commentary
This empathetic response to some First World War material shows the ability to retrieve relevant information from a selection of texts (AF2) and uses inference to make simple deductions about feelings and attitudes (AF3). A basic understanding is shown of Dulce et decorum est, with some recognition of its historical context. This brief response provides evidence of AFs 2, 3 and 7 but only occasionally addresses the level 4 criteria.
