157 Group case studies

03/11/10

To date over 180 organisations have now achieved Part A of the TQS.  The 157 Group – which has a membership of large, highly successful and regionally influential colleges – counts 21 certificated FE colleges among its 28 members – that’s just over 10% of all Part A TQS certificates awarded.

To celebrate this milestone, several 157 Group colleges have contributed case studies to share their experiences of TQS improvement. Designed to help other organisations before they embark on their own assessment journey, the case studies also explore the lessons they’ve learned from working with the Standard, and the impact it’s had on their work with employers.

Frank McLoughlin CBE, Chair of 157 Group said: “157 Group colleges work with more than 32,000 employers, and are keenly aware of the need for effective employer engagement. Providers with certification under the Training Quality Standard appreciate the importance of truly understanding the needs of a business and providing cost effective training that has a measurable impact.”

Duncan Brown, leading on TQS at CFE, said: “The 157 Group represents 28 of the largest, highly successful and regionally influential FE Colleges in England; the very fact that 21 of its members have sought assessment and currently hold certification is a fantastic endorsement for the Standard.  We hope that other ambitious colleges and training providers find these case studies interesting and as a result are inspired to find out more about TQS.”

The case studies have been provided by the following colleges and are available to download by clicking on each name in the list below:
