A. Pending the outcome of the government review on the further implementation of the Vetting and Barring Scheme, the scheme has been halted at least temporarily with Independent Safeguarding Authority registration suspended indefinitely.
A. We included this in our application forms because the original start date of the Independent Safeguarding Authority was to be 26 July 2010. This date has now been postponed, pending the outcome of the review. You do not need to worry about this section of your application form to register with Ofsted, and you should leave this box blank.
A. No. You will still need to have an enhanced CRB check.
A. The Government is already consulting on the need for CRB checks when someone is already registered with the Independent Safeguarding Authority. The findings from this consultation will inform the review of the Vetting and Barring Scheme that the Government has announced. Until the review is concluded the requirements for CRB checks remain unchanged.
A. You do not need to do anything as a result of this announcement. Once the Government’s review is concluded, we will know more about the arrangements for people to register with the Independent Safeguarding Authority. We will be able to tell you more about the future arrangements once the review is finished and the government has published its findings.
