Who we are


Here are some key facts about the department:

Staff

The department has around 2,700 staff.

In addition, around 500 people work for UK Trade & Investment in the UK.

Our network of partner organisations includes six executive agencies employing around 6,300 staff.

Ministers

Our Secretary of State is Rt Hon Dr Vince Cable MP, supported by a team of Ministers.

Management team

Our Permanent Secretary is Martin Donnelly, supported by a senior management team.

Budget

The department's budget for 2011/12 is £17.6 billion reducing to £14.6 billion by 2014/15 under the Spending Review.

Locations

Our staff locations include London, Sheffield, Billingham, Cardiff, Darlington, Glasgow, Manchester, Nottingham, Runcorn and Watford.

Structure

The department is structured into eight management groups:
