Sudan

The Stabilisation Unit has been involved with Sudan for the last 2 years, through management of a programme of support to the Darfur Darfur Dialogue and Consultation.  This programme aims to engage civil society in the Darfur Peace Process through consultations with local groups.  Four consultants are based in Darfur to deliver this programme.  The Unit also employs a Stabilisation Adviser in Sudan.  This post had previously been based in Khartoum, but the intention is that the new postholder will be based in Juba and focus on support to southern Sudan.  The Stabilisation Adviser will be further supported by a surge capacity from within the Unit for short term requirements.  In the past, such requirements have included facilitating strategy workshops and conducting reviews of various projects.
