Brief Description

To provide a key role in the managing the process of Delegated Authority (DA) and assist the Senior Financial Accountant through underpinning financial accounting practice within the section. The post holder will manage a series of defined financial accounting tasks as part of retained function’s assurance role in SSC management including : balance sheet reconciliation, related party management, fixed asset clearing, and assist the Senior Financial Accountant with accounting practice.


Vacancy description

Maintain integrity of DA framework ensuring activities within the organisation are co-ordinated to include monitoring of compliance.

Analyse and streamline DA processes assessing impact of change in business practices to ensure efficient and fit for purpose.

Assist with the issue and withdrawal of staff letters as and when required.


SSC balance sheet reconciliation management including verification, accuracy and ageing.


Forecast cashflow, and management thereof with Shared Service Centre Cash management group. Prepare monthly and forecast returns to BIS.


Manage a number of clearing accounts on behalf of retained function so that expenditure and income correctly allocated within ledgers : fixed assets; goods received not invoiced; intercompany reconciliation.


Assist in the preparation of the draft financial statements with specific disclosure responsibilities.


Maintain and compile internal control and audit file.


Responsible for front line financial accounting and ERP generated process queries.


Writing and developing financial accounting SOPs and policies


Ensuring compliance with internal controls and reporting, by exception, any non-compliance or system weaknesses.

Support risk management of section in particular Financial Loss risk review and fully investigate and identify areas of potential weakness and risk to the organisation.
