The Department of Health’s National Support Teams (NSTs) work directly with and alongside senior colleagues in PCTs and local authorities to support them to deliver their public health priorities.
We provide nationally recognised expertise on delivery through staff drawn from the NHS, local authorities and relevant third sector partners. We ensure our advice, guidance and support is in line with latest policy direction by working in close association with policy colleagues in DH, the Department for Education, the Home Office, and Communities and Local Government. We collect and disseminate best practice drawn from our work with local areas across England (and in some cases Wales). We collect evidence of levers and barriers to delivery to improve national policy formulation.
Sections relating to some of the National Support Teams were archived, and are being updated to reflect the change in Government. Any information published before 11 May 2010 can be accessed through The National Archives website. While information is being updated, statutory regulations and guidance remain in force.
