You as a Family Carer

This page is for you as a family carer.

On this page you can find out about publications and best practice, and find links to take you to the most relevant parts of the website.

Valuing People Now recognises that families are usually the main source of love, care and support for children and adults with learning disabilities. This is especially the case for families of people with more complex needs.

It is vital that family carers, like you, are recognised and valued as key partners in the delivery of Valuing People Now, and in the support of your own son or daughter.

As you care for your family it is always helpful to know that there are some organisations and networks who provide tips and ideas for parents, carers, teachers e.t.c with everyday experience of learning disabilities. Netbuddy is one such organisation.
