  • Closed stations

    • Blackfriars

      Closed until late 2011. Please use Temple and Mansion House stations. Tickets are also accepted on bus 388 between Mansion House and Embankment.

      Journey times may be increased by up to 10 minutes.

    • Latimer Road

      Closed until late April 2011 due to planned maintenance work.

      London Underground tickets are valid on local bus routes between Ladbroke Grove, Latimer Road, Wood Lane and Shepherds Bush Green.

      Journey times may be increased by up to 15 minutes.

  • Station maintenance

    (lifts, escalators etc.)

    • Bank

      Major escalator work is taking place at Bank and you may need to follow an alternative route through the station, which will be clearly signed. Between 0700 and 1000 on weekdays until late 2011 the Central line ticket hall operates as 'exit only'. Please follow signage for an alternative route to the Central line platforms. Until late 2011 there will also be a reduced escalator service between Bank station and the DLR platforms. For the easiest route to/from street level and the DLR use Monument station. Advice if you arrive at Bank on the Waterloo & City line: For the DLR: During this work use the moving walkway and follow signs via the Northern line ticket hall. For the Central line use the long subway from the platforms and not the moving walkway. There is a reduced lift service at Bank until May 2011.

    • Belsize Park

      Reduced lift service until mid February 2011.

    • Bounds Green

      Until early May 2011, no down escalator service due to the continuation of refurbishment work. Access to the platforms will be via the central staircase (86 steps). If you are unable to use the stairs, please use the following buses to Wood Green station: Bus 221 from stop BA on Bounds Green Road or bus 184 from stop BB on Brownlow Road.

    • Canary Wharf

      No step-free access due to a faulty lift.

    • Covent Garden

      GOING TO COVENT GARDEN? Covent Garden station gets very busy at weekends and in the evenings, but you can avoid the crowds by walking there from Leicester Square (6 minutes) or Holborn (9 minutes). The short walk is clearly signposted above ground and maps are on display at both stations.

    • Earl's Court

      No step-free access to the eastbound District line platform until mid February due to planned maintenance work.

    • East Ham

      No step-free access to on the eastbound platform due to a faulty lift.

    • Elephant & Castle

      Reduced lift service until early March 2011 due to planned maintenance work.

    • Fulham Broadway

      No step-free access on the eastbound platform.

    • Hampstead Station

      Reduced lift service until early March 2011.

    • Heathrow Central (1-2-3)

      FLYING FROM HEATHROW? You are advised to check in as early as possible. Check the instructions on your ticket, from your travel agent or booking website or with your airline directly. Before travelling visit www.baa.com/heathrow or contact your airline to confirm which terminal you require. Please note that Oyster Cards, Travelcards and Freedom Passes are not valid on Heathrow Express services, or on the Heathrow Connect between Hayes & Harlington and Heathrow.

    • King's Cross St.Pancras

      Reduced escalator service until late March 2011.

    • Lambeth North

      Reduced lift service until late February 2011.

    • Leicester Square

      Reduced escalator service until early May 2011 due to planned maintenance work.

    • North Greenwich

      Reduced escalator service until late May 2011.

    • Oxford Circus

      Reduced escalator service until early June 2011. Entrances to this station may close to prevent overcrowding. At busy times use the Central line from Bond Street or the Bakerloo line from Piccadilly Circus to start your journey, then change at Oxford Circus if you require the Victoria line.

    • Southwark

      Reduced escalator service until late July 2011 due to planned maintenance work.

    • Tottenham Court Road

      Reduced escalator service until mid August 2011 due to planned maintenance work.

    • Victoria

      Major escalator refurbishment is taking place at Victoria Underground station until mid January 2012. Your journey will be easier if you can avoid entering the station between 1600 - 2000 on weekdays when: Queues are likely. There will be no ticketing facilities. A one-way system will be in place, including some entrances/exits. You may be asked to wait outside the station to prevent overcrowding. Once inside the station it may take up to 15 minutes to reach your platform. To avoid this disruption start your journey at nearby St. James's Park or Pimlico stations, which are easy to reach on foot or by local bus services from Victoria.     • Warren Street

      Reduced escalator service until late March 2011.

    • West Ham

      Reduced escalator service until further notice.
