Scope of the RTFO

The RTFO applies to the whole of the UK. It covers the supply of fuels for road transport use only. The biofuels eligible for support under the RTFO include bioethanol, biodiesel, pure plant oil, biogas (methane), biobutanol, bio-ETBE and HVO (hydrogenated vegetable oil, also referred to as renewable diesel).
