Exhibitors at the LowCVP Conference which will take place on June 9 at the Clifford Chance Auditorium, Canary Wharf include: Michelin, BP, Cenex, Coventry University, Oxford Brookes University, The Campaign for Better Tyres (Environmental Protection UK) and the Nuffield Council on Bioethics. There are only one or two exhibition spaces left at the event.

LowCVP showcases 'Best of British' Engineering at Challenge Bibendum, Berlin

The LowCVP held a 5-day exhibition to showcase some of the best examples of British engineering innovation for cutting road transport carbon emissions at Michelin's Challenge Bibendum, held in Berlin from 18-22 May. The LowCVP worked with partner organisations - mainly SMEs - to help nurture the UK's low carbon supply chain.

Government agrees to Climate Change Committee targets under Fourth Carbon Budget, but with caveats
23 May 2011

The Government has confirmed its agreement to the Committee on Climate Change's advice for greenhouse gas emission reductions of 50% against a 1990 baseline to be achieved in the period 2023-27. Media reports said that the proposals had been challenged by the Department for Business, Department for Transport and by the Treasury and were only agreed following an undertaking to review the targets in the light of actions by other countries.

Motoring consumer groups call for greater transparency in advertising environmental benefits of EVs

The FIA - Federation (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile), which has 71 European motoring and touring clubs amongst its members - says that while it supports the push for electric vehicles, its clubs are calling for greater transparency and consistency in the carbon rating of plug-in vehicles.

RAC Foundation report presents mixed picture on well-to-wheel emissions of different fuel technologies

A new report by the RAC Foundation based on 51 vehicles taking part in the Foundation's 57-mile Brighton to London eco-rally found that well-to-wheel emissions were better for the only highly efficient petrol internal combustion engine vehicle in the rally than for electric, hybrid, hydrogen fuel cell or diesel cars also taking part. The report highlighs that the eco-credentials of electric cars depend on when they are charged.
