
More than 700 schools across seven of the 11 provinces in Mozambique are being supported by International Inspiration, the legacy programme promised by the London Olympics bid team in Singapore six years ago when they were awarded the right to host the Games. The programme is on course to exceed its target of reaching 12 million children in 20 countries across the world through sport by the end of next year.

Shannon Belvin from St Angela's Ursuline School in Forest Gate, Newham, has won a London 2012 education programme design competition to create a version of the London 2012 Paralympic mascot Mandeville that she feels represents London. The prize for winning the competition included having the opportunity to work with a top London designer to develop her design - which will now be made into an official version of Mandeville as well as a London 2012 pin badge.
The first metal ore that will be made into London 2012 medals has today been delivered by official metal provider Rio Tinto to the London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG). The London 2012 Organising Committee (LOCOG) today urged members of the Armed Forces to sign up to be in with a chance of receiving free London 2012 tickets. A total of 10,000 tickets will be donated to Tickets For Troops through the London 2012 Ticketshare scheme, giving members of the Army, Royal Navy and RAF the chance to attend the Olympic and Paralympic Games next summer free of charge.
