Information on the Department's work with local authorities on road safety demonstration and partnership projects.
The Inner City Safety Demonstration Project (ICSDP) is part of a family of Department for Transport sponsored road safety demonstration projects, each conceived to address specific road safety issues.

This report presents the findings from the part of the evaluation of the Inner City Safety Demonstration Project (termed Streets Ahead on Safety Project (SAOS) by Birmingham City Council) carried out by the University of Birmingham.

The first section describes the purpose, structure and timing of the rural road safety demonstration project, which runs from 2007 – 2010. The following 4 documents are from each of the participating Local Highway Authorities (Devon, Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Northamptonshire County Councils) outlining the nature of their projects.

The Mixed Priority Routes (MPR) Demonstration Project was launched in 2002 and shows how roads included in the scheme can be made safer and more pleasant for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists alike.
