Review of the MOT Inspection Manual to reflect changes as a result of Directive 2010/48EU

In line with Directive 2010/48EU, VOSA has to make changes to the MOT inspection manual that introduces new test items. The following documents give background and show what the proposed changes are. They offer the opportunity to comment upon the proposals using the forms included.

Changes to the MOT Scheme

VOSA have been working with Siemens to make improvements and savings to services within the MOT scheme. There are a total of 6 proposals to consider and we invite your comments and views. If you have comments on any of the proposals, please send these to MOTConsultationResponse@vosa.gsi.gov.uk or alternatively by post to the address shown above. Comments need to be received no later than 11th February 2011.

Changes to the way tests can be booked with VOSA

We would like your comments on some changes that we want to make to how VOSA customers book their tests for Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), Trailers and Public Service Vehicles (PSVs) at a VOSA Test Station. Full details and response form below:

Consultation on changes to the way tests can be booked with VOSA

In Service Exhaust Emissions Standards for Road vehicles Sixteenth Edition Version 1.0

This data now at Version 1.0 will now form part of the annual update of the emissions standard at MOT and Roadside testing as of 1 August 2010.

Any changes as a result of the consultation are now contained in the new data which sets the emissions limits as specified by each manufacturer for petrol cars and light commercial vehicles equipped with advanced emissions control systems during MOT and roadside testing.
