Enforcement - Replacement Tyre Noise

The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) (Amendment) Regulations 2010 (SI 2010 No. 312) and Motor Vehicles (Designation of Approval Marks) (Amendment) Regulations 2010 (SI 2010 No. 313) came into effect on 23rd March 2010. The legislation controls the standard of replacement tyres fitted to road vehicles, helping to ensure that noise pollution levels on and around UK highways are kept to a minimum.

VCA has been appointed to enforce the legislation. An information leaflet has been produced to explain the legislation and the role VCA will play, this can be accessed below. If you would like to speak to someone at VCA about this please contact: (Tel: +44 (0)1179 524222).
