Freedom of Information
The Government Car and Despatch Agency (GCDA), like all other government organisations, is a "public authority" to which the Freedom of Information Act 2000 ("the FOI Act") applies. GCDA is an executive agency of the Department for Transport. As such it has no separate legal identity and is not a public authority in its own right.
The FOI Act aims to make information held by public authorities more accessible to the public and allows individuals and companies to request a wide variety of material.
This section summarises GCDA’s FOI request handling procedures. It aims to satisfy the requirements of the Code of Practice, which can be found at Department for Constitutional Affairs - Code of Practice .
Detailed information about the provisions of the FOI Act can be found at Department for Constitutional Affairs - Your Rights.
