We can help you

Want to safeguard your personal information? Safeguarding your personal information

Personal information is information about you, such as your name, address, or telephone number. It can also include details you’ve used to access online services, such as your username and password. It’s important to manage and do what you can to safeguard that information.

Our personal information toolkit gives you advice and tips on how to do this.

How do I notify? How do I notify?

The ICO maintains a public register of data controllers which contains entries for organisations that process personal data.

If your organisation processes personal information electronically, you may need to notify with the ICO for inclusion on the register. Unless you are exempt, failure to do so is a criminal offence.

You can notify with the ICO by completing our online notification form. To find out more about notification, visit our notification pages.
