As a civil servant there are several benefits open to you, from financial advice and support, to clubs and societies.

The CSER benefits offer is a joint project that brings together CSER and CSSC Sports and Leisure who have worked together to provide an offer which:

• Allows free access for all civil servants to a small number of time limited discounts and;
• Introduces civil servants to CSSC’s full offer comprising of 1000s of discounts plus access to social and sporting activities, all of which are available for a membership fee of £3.50 a month.

Countdown

The discount offers will change every two months in order to provide a selection that caters to all tastes and that suit the time of year e.g school holidays, Easter etc.

The scheme has the full backing of Sir Gus O’Donnell, who supports the project’s ethos to promote belonging to the civil service community. This is particularly pertinent at the present time when many colleagues are leaving the Civil Service as membership of CSSC can be retained. It therefore provides a way to maintain a link with former colleagues and the civil service.

Employee Assistance Programmes

Do you need confidential, one to one, professional help or advice on stress, bereavement, bullying and harassment, debt, child or caring responsibilities and a range of other personal issues?

All staff have access to staff counselling and welfare services provided by their department. Your HR team or HR guide will have the details of all the services on offer to you and the different ways to access them, by phone and in some cases on line, for which a password maybe required.

However as all the providers we know of operate a phone service, we have listed their details including whether they have a website you could access. If and when you ring, just remember to say which department you are from, as it will help them to help you.

CSSC Games 2011

CSSC is keen to encourage civil servants of all sporting abilities to take part in its biennial CSSC Games event, which will be taking place on 15 and 16 September 2011 at Loughborough University. The CSSC Games is CSSC’s largest sporting event, bringing together 15 different sports at one top class venue. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy two days of sporting fun and competition alongside some great evening entertainment. Apart from opportunities for team building within departmental teams, this event also provides opportunities for civil servants to come along as CSSC volunteers and experience the huge sense of pride and passion which surrounds an event of this scale.

CSSC Sports and Leisure

CSSC Sports and Leisure is the largest provider of corporate leisure and fitness facilities in the UK. CSSC's programme of departmental, local, regional, national and even international sports and leisure opportunities is funded by members' subscriptions of just £3.25 per month.
