Brief Description
• To be a Senior Legal Adviser in the Legal, Commercial team
• Supporting the implementation of key Ofgem E-Serve projects in particular the Offshore Transmission project, advising on a broad range of matters including public law, European law, licensing and governance in the context of the Authority’s statutory powers, functions and duties

• To provide timely and expert legal advice to colleagues in the Commercial Division
• To support the work-stream heads in implementing key projects for Ofgem E-Serve
• To advise on process and legal risks and work with policy colleagues to develop solutions
• To review key documents, papers and correspondence

Qualifications
• Fully qualified barrister or solicitor, qualified to practise in England and Wales
Experience
• Minimum 5 years PQE as a qualified barrister/solicitor
• Expertise and knowledge in the following areas:
o Regulation of the Utility and renewables/environmental sector
o Sound knowledge and expertise of advising on due process in a regulatory environment, public administrative law, European law and the creation of primary and secondary legislation. Knowledge of commercial transactions would be desirable
• Excellent legal professional skills and powers of analysis and judgement including the ability to draft legislative and regulatory instruments in particular licences and secondary legislation
• Strong knowledge and expertise of public law, European law and the legislative framework in which the public sector operates and the creation of primary and secondary legislation
