The Driving Standards Agency: bank holiday closures

Find out when the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) customer service centre and driving test centres are open over the coming bank holidays. Also, learn how to cancel a test online without losing your fee.

Services during public holidays at the DSA

Online services at the DSA

On public holidays:

  • DSA's customer service centre is closed
  • a limited number of tests will be conducted from some test centres
  • automated telephone lines, for general information like fees and changing existing practical tests, are available from 6.00 am to midnight

Online services available as normal

Throughout the public holidays DSA's online services remain available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Using the online service, you can book, check, change or cancel your:

  • theory test
  • practical test

Bank Holiday closures in April and May 2011

The following dates are public holidays, so the opening restrictions above will apply:

  • Friday 22 April – Good Friday
  • Monday 25 April – Easter Monday
  • Friday 29 April – Royal Wedding (a special holiday for 2011 only)
  • Monday 2 May – Early May Holiday
  • Monday 30 May – Spring Holiday

Changing or cancelling a driving test without losing your fee

To change your booking without losing your fee, you need to give at least three clear working days' notice. Working days include Saturdays, but not Sundays or public holidays. So to change or cancel a test booked for Monday 25 April without losing your fee, you need to do it on or before Tuesday 19 April.
