Public private partnerships
The Project Review Group oversees the approval process for local authority PFI projects that receive Government support. It is the gatekeeper for the delivery of PFI credit funding to the local authority PFI programme.
PRG meetings are normally held on the third Tuesday of every month. Exceptional meetings are occasionally held when a sufficient number of Outline Business Cases (OBCs) are received to be reviewed by the panel; similarly meetings are not held in a month when no OBCs have been received. The PRG has launched a 2nd stage review process (March 2005). The review involves evaluating a projects affordability and compliance with standardised contract terms and conditions at a stage just prior to appointing preferred bidder. The process for the 2nd stage review is available below:
