As a Sector Skills Council (SSC), Lifelong Learning UK (LLUK) focuses on raising employer engagement, demand and investment in skills; has a lead role in collating and communicating authoritative labour market information for the sector, and takes a lead role in vocational qualifications, apprenticeship frameworks and national occupational standards.

In addition the LLUK business plan sets out the sectoral objectives specific to the needs of the employers within our footprint: higher education, further education, career guidance, community learning and development, work based learning, and libraries, archives and information services.
