QCDA supplier information

28 May 2010

Announcement

Following confirmation by the secretary of state for education of the government's intention to introduce legislation this autumn to close QCDA, we wish to inform suppliers that the secretary of state has stated that QCDA will retain its statutory obligations until any legislation is passed by parliament and given effect. Furthermore there are a range of educational activities that will continue while we will work with the Department for Education to refocus our activity to meet our statutory obligations and the Department's policy priorities while the legislation completes its parliamentary passage. Some of our functions will also continue beyond the closure of QCDA.

We therefore anticipate continuing to work with current suppliers in line with our contractual agreements but may be required to renegotiate contracts in certain areas.

In terms of our procurement activities we remain subject to the permanent secretary for the Department for Education's requirement not to enter into new contractual commitments without approval while the government determines its policy priorities. We will consider with the Department which procurements to proceed with and which to cease over the forthcoming weeks.

We value your continuing support to educational delivery and will provide additional information as it becomes available.

Updated information for suppliers can be found under Working with us.
