The Royal Wedding

The wedding of HRH Prince William and Miss Catherine Middleton will take place at Westminster Abbey on Friday 29 April 2011. The wedding service will begin at 11.00am.Engagement photograph of Prince William and Catherine Middleton

A large policing operation will be in place as the event is expected to attract substantial numbers of people onto the streets of London.

In charge of the overall policing operation on the day will be Commander Bob Broadhurst, Head of Public Order, and Chief Superintendent Peter Terry, who will head the tactical policing plan.

At 12:15pm the wedding procession will leave Westminster Abbey for Buckingham Palace.

The route will be:
Parliament Square, Whitehall, Horse Guards Arch, Horse Guards Road and The Mall

Road closures are expected to begin at 6:00am on April 29th. They will be reopened gradually from approximately 2:00pm onwards.
