Working in partnership, the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) promotes and funds high-quality, cost-effective teaching and research, meeting the diverse needs of students, the economy and society.
Following consultation, the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education has announced a new method of institutional review.
HEFCE will distribute £6,507 million in funding for universities and colleges in England for 2011-12.
HEFCE will allocate £662 million in capital funds for teaching and research for 2011-12 to 2012-13 and 2011-12 to 2014-15.
