About Us

The Department for Education and Skills' Public Enquiry Unit is here to help you find out things you want to know about education and skills matters. If you have a routine enquiry, we can probably answer it ourselves. If it is a more complex question then we aim to put you in touch with a policy expert who can answer you.

You can contact us by phone 0870 000 2288, email info@dfes.gsi.gov.uk, fax 01928 79 4248, in writing Department for Education and Skills, Great Smith Street, London, SW1P 3BT, or by text phone 01928 79 4274.

We will aim to answer you as quickly as possible. For example, our target is to answer the phone within 20 seconds for 80% of the calls we take.

We always welcome feedback on any part of our service to you and will use it to further improve the way that we work. Please send any comments to info@dfes.gsi.gov.uk.
