JNCC staff met representatives from the EU’s 7 Outermost Regions (ORS) and 21 Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) at The European Union and its Overseas Entities: Strategy to counter Climate Change and Biodiversity Loss conference, hosted on Reunion Island. The conference aim was to enhance and reinforce actions relating to climate change adaption, sustainable energy, biodiversity conservation and ecosystem management.  It proposed new strategies and action programmes to address these issues across the EU’s overseas entities and the regions that surround them. More information on the conference.

JNCC launched a series of outreach materials focussed on climate change in the UKOTs at this conference. These included the two short videos below.

We would be grateful if you could give us your thoughts and feedback on the available products via this short online survey

Videos

These short videos form part of a series of materials that JNCC has developed to raise awareness of Climate change in the UK Overseas Territories (OTs) .

  1. Part one looks at the impacts of climate change on OTs
  2. Part 2 looks at adaptation and mitigation.

They have been designed so that they can be shown independently, and therefore share the same 1min 30s introduction.

Part 1 Impacts

Part 2 Mitigation & Adaptation
