Each Local Biodiversity Action Plan works on the basis of partnership to identify local priorities and to determine the contribution they can make to the delivery of the national Species and Habitat Action Plan targets. Often, but not always, LBAPs conform to county boundaries
Local Records Centres
A new and up-to-the-minute database of all Local Records Centres is now available via the website of the National Federation for Biological Recording. (NFBR). It lists contact addresses and websites of every existing or proposed LRC/BRC in the UK, including the Channel Islands and Isle of Man.
It can be found via the normal Links page of the
NFBR website which gives many other useful pointers to other websites relevant to biological recording, even down to practical matters like aerial photographs, gazetteers and tide tables.

You can plot the distribution of species, and in some cases habitats, in each LBAP by linking to the NBN Gateway. Go to the LBAP page and in the contents click on the NBN link "

List the habitats/species that occur in this LBAP". This will display the NBN Gateway range of species that occur in the LBAP. This link shows the datasets that are used and enables you to refine the search.
To view the LBAP boundaries and access a summary of the LBAPs, click on the map or follow the links beneath it.
