Regional indicators

Regional versions of the UK Government’s indicators of sustainable Regions of England development provide a perspective of sustainable development in each region.    For 46 out of the 68 national indicators it has been possible to produce regional versions for the Government Office Regions.  The indicators highlight issues across the themes of Sustainable Consumption and Production, Natural Resources, and Sustainable Communities. Other indicators provide useful contextual information.

Indicator summaries and assessments

  • The indicator summaries   Grouped in themes - each indicator is presented using graph showing the most up to date position against a baseline year for each region.
  • The Regional factsheets  explains and assesses progress against each indicator in the Government office regions using similar methods to those used for  the national sustainable development indicators.
  • Summary of all measures shows the best and worst regions in absolute terms by indicator for contextual purposes.
