|Land recycling since:||
- The percentage of new dwellings built on previously developed land, or through the conversion of existing buildings, increased from 54 per cent in 1990 to 70 per cent in 2003, and then to 80 per cent in 2009 (provisional estimate).
- The percentage of land changing to a developed use that was previously developed increased from 47 per cent in 1990 to 61 per cent in 2005, but had then decreased to 55 per cent by 2007.
