Court Fees

Fees payable for various applications at court are laid out by a Statutory Instrument*(referred to as a Fee Order) which in turn is periodically updated by Fee Amendment Orders.

Below are summarized versions of these from 1st April 2010. These documents also explain when you may not have to pay court fees.

The Scottish Court Service accepts the following forms of payment:

- Cheques - Made payable to "The Scottish Court Service".
- Debit Card & Credit Card - Please check which types of card are acceptable with the appropriate court.
- Postal Order - Made payable to "The Scottish Court Service".
- Cash - If paying by post it is not advisable to make cash payments.
