Anti-social Behaviour

Research is focusing on:

  • defining and measuring anti-social behaviour
  • factors that affect children’s involvement in anti-social behaviour
  • interventions to tackle anti-social behaviour

Defining and measuring anti-social behaviour is a key area of work, as previous research has been limited by difficulties with the definition of anti-social behaviour. We are therefore conducting research to fill important knowledge gaps.

The British Crime Survey is currently the main source of regular information about perceptions of ASB as a problem in local communities across England and Wales, and a range of anti-social behaviours are explored using the survey.
