Rules & Legislation

Rules and procedures

The Tribunal has new procedural rules and fees that apply to all cases from Monday 29th of November onwards. The Tribunal's forms for starting cases and the information we provide on this website and in our Explanatory Leaflet have been updated in light of the new rules and fees.

In this section you will find the legal rules that govern cases in the Tribunal. The Practice Directions supplement the Rules and must also be followed.

The Fees Order makes fees payable at different stages of the Tribunal proceedings. The amount of the fees and the stage at which they are payable is set out in the Schedule to the Fees Order. Please note that cheques for fees should be made payable to the 'Tribunals Service' (not the Lands Chamber).

You may also wish to refer to the Explanatory Leaflet, which provides an overview of the work of the Tribunal and the different steps for beginning an application, reference or appeal in the Tribunal. There is a flowchart for each of the main types of cases that the Tribunal deals with. The flowcharts show the steps in the different procedures that might apply to your case. The Explanatory Leaflet and flowcharts may be found on the Forms and Guidance page.

The Practice Statement sets out the powers that may be exercised by a Registrar of the Lands Chamber.
